So if I have a program on my desktop and then open the context menu of that application and delete the current file, if I go to another folder the deleted file will be highlighted. This does not occur in Windows 8 or other older versions of Windows. I have noticed this problem in Explorer or in another application, when I look at the icon on the desktop (which is why I think it is highlighted) in Explorer the little tiny thumbnail of the icon shows up instead of the icon itself. I'm assuming this has something to do with a windows 7 add-in, but I don't know which one to uninstall or what other effects it could have. The add-in I know is called Quick File Finder and I can't find any useful information about it online. Does anybody know what setting/exception this is caused by? It's still an issue even with Windows 8. Thanks A: This is probably caused by your Quick Access panel, which is the list of recently used items in the top-left corner of the screen. Check to see if there are a bunch of items in there that you'd like to get rid of. Go into the Quick Access panel in Desktop, and then click "Customize Quick Access..." in the lower-right corner. The easiest way to delete things from the panel is to drag them off to the right, so 595f342e71
